Composing is logical - not mysterious or hippy. And it is a marvellous way to demonstrate an understanding of music.  Come and learn how to combine theoretical knowledge and aural skills, with imagination to create brilliant compositions.
Gregory Smith has completed a degree in Composition and will share his experience to help you approach composition in a way that is interesting and achieves great results.

Come and learn the fundamentals of getting great results in exams with this highly experienced presenter. There will be plenty of outstanding tips and  Maureen will guide you through;

· Teaching effective Sight Reading, from basics through to advanced levels

This exciting presenter will show you how to approach teaching jazz improvisation and how to make it a fun and stimulating inclusion in your lessons.  The workshop will include;
· How to read a chord chart     · What notes will sound good
· Playing a walking bass             · Ideas for starting to improvise jazz
· How to “groove” in swing, latin and rock · ABRSM Jazz exams
· Integration of listening and aural with improvisation
